Genetics and Genomics are becoming increasingly relevant to public health in the areas of wellness and disease, while also being integral to the development of treatments for rare disorders. Common diagnoses such as epilepsy and cancer may have specific interventions based on the specific genetic findings in a patient. Unfortunately, most health care providers do not receive extensive formal education in genetics and genomics, making it challenging to deliver even the standard of care in genetic medicine. We will tailor educational presentations to any audience, focusing on the clinical applications of genetics research and current medical guidelines to bring providers and patients up to speed on the genetics issues that are more important to them.
